Musical Delights of the 17th Century Germanic Courts with Arms Perpetuum

  • First Unitarian Church of Cincinnati 536 Linton Street Cincinnati, OH, 45219 United States (map)

Ars Perpetuum performs virtuosic music from the Germanic lands of the 17th century on period instruments. The program draws from the manuscript Partiturbuch Ludwig, which preserves pieces by composers working in the Germanic lands, among them Valentini, Oswalt, and Bertali. The program is rounded out with pieces by Mattias Weckmann, Johann Schmelzer, and Daniel Speer.

Fantastic historical performers Adam Bregman (sackbuts), Katharina Haun (cornetti), Keith Collins (dulcians), Lindsey Tootle (baroque violin), and Michael Unger (organ) join Sean McGhee (sackbuts) for this afternoon of rare and beautiful chamber works.

ARS PERPETUUM brings historically informed performances to Cincinnati, specializing in music featuring period winds of the Renaissance and Baroque.
