Music Live at Lunch: Sephardic Medieval and Renaissance Music

  • Christ Church Cathedral 318 East 4th Street Cincinnati, OH, 45202 United States (map)

Moyen Age and Cantus Florens will collaborate to present Sephardic songs from the 14th through 17th centuries. In addition, some scintillating songs and dances of Spring (wishful thinking by late February...) will magically occur in order to put an end to all the cold and snow we have experienced the last three months.

Music Live at Lunch is a free, weekly concert series featuring a variety of music. Bring your own lunch or buy one at the cathedral. When Cincinnati Public Schools close due to inclement weather, Music Live at Lunch will also be canceled. Convenient parking is located in the Queen City Square Garage across the street from the cathedral’s Fourth Street entrance.

Tickets are not required for this event.

MOYEN ÂGE has been performing medieval music since 2017. Its members include a world-class plucked string builder, and conservatory graduates with as much as 50 years experience in early music. More information is available on their website.

CANTUS FLORENS is directed by Carly Robinett and comprised of singers Beth Howard, Kirsten Marron, Cassandra Langjhar, and Sarah Simko.

CARLY ROBINETT, mezzo-soprano, is pursuing a Master of Music in Music Education at CCM, where she serves as a Graduate Assistant in the Division of Music Education. She assists with Choral Methods, teaches Voice Class for Instrumentalists and sight-singing lessons, and supervises the Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association Chapter. Outside of her current studies, Carly sings in the St. Rose of Lima Choir and performs as a Cantorial Soloist at Isaac M. Wise Temple. She has also performed with Heri et Hodie, Moyen Age, Collegium Cincinnati, and other local ensembles as a singer, violinist, and conductor. Prior to her graduate studies, Carly taught Chorus, Orchestra, and Access Music at the middle school level in Naples, FL after earning her BME from Florida State University.
