Join Heri et Hodie for an annual Easter week tradition as they present a thirteenth-century medieval liturgical drama written by women of the Wilton Abbey in England.
Music Live at Lunch is a free, weekly concert series featuring a variety of music. Bring your own lunch or buy one at the cathedral. When Cincinnati Public Schools close due to inclement weather, Music Live at Lunch will also be canceled. Convenient parking is located in the Queen City Square Garage across the street from the cathedral’s Fourth Street entrance.
Tickets are not required for this event.
HERI ET HODIE (Yesterday and Today) is an intimate treble voice ensemble that revels in both medieval and modern music. Stretching back to the earliest days of polyphony and chant, their strong grounding in music history informs both dynamic performances and intriguing programming. Classically trained but deeply curious, Heri et Hodie concerts have explored Nordic echoes of the Vikings, folk traditions of Balkan women’s music, contemporary composers writing virtuosic music, medieval Jewish ballads, and the simple yet demanding vocal lines of unison monophonic music.
Building relationships with and supporting the careers of contemporary composers, Heri et Hodie is grateful to have been able to premiere works by such composers as Ellen Harrison (USA), Carlotta Ferrari (Italy) and Melissa Dunphy (USA/Australia). Recent participation in the May Festival’s 25 for 25 commissioning project brought to life a composition by teenaged composer Azalea Twining.
As educators, the members of Heri et Hodie have lectured and presented at both the high school and university level, bringing their specialty of women in music and Hildegard von Bingen to diverse student audiences at high schools such as Winton Woods, Lockland, Dater, Norwood, St. Ursula Academy, Ursuline Academy, and universities that include the College-Conservatory of Music, the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, Miami University, Case-Western Reserve, Baldwin Wallace, and Franciscan University. Director Krista Cornish Scott is a frequent presenter at international conferences, and most recently presented at the Music by Women International Festival in March 2026.
